0-60 Dashhawk results
Hey anyone got the MSD DashHawk?
This is my 0-60 result on a completely stock 3dr RS manual with 900km, I had a bit of wheelspin at the start, 9.01 seconds not bad eh?, its supposed to be accurate to within 0.1 second I plan to compare this once i get a cold air, lightweight wheels, borla exaust etc... www.dashhawk.com, it only reads vehicles capable of the CAN network it can also record 90 seconds of any selectable data like engine rpm, temperatures speed etc... |

Who said Yaris was slow?

More expensive than the scan gauge II. Any special reason why you pick the MSD?

well, 0-60 timing for one. that would be nice if the scangage did that.. I have a scanguage btw.
I dont see why they couldnt implement this, it just has to time how long it takes to get to 60mph.... 1/4 mile times would be sweet too!!! I just went on their site and it doesnt appear that there is any firmware update or anything. maybe someday? |

ya its almost twice the $$$ of the scangauge
the main reasons i picked the dashhawk is the data logging capability, (its smaller than a laptop) nice easy to use, and MSD is always updating it 2 big disappointments: no MPG calculation (not yet anyway), and it only supports CAN equipped vehicles but its quite a useful performance tool, My friend is geting a Scangauge2 soon, then ill be able to see any major differences |

keep us posted ogredude of your progress. it would be interesting to see after each modification what kind of actual performance gains you get. it is easy to say that a mod netted an x hp gain, but to observe actual performance gains is quite another. i understand that figures are subject to conditions, driver skill (or error), etc., but if the previous two stay as close to constant as possible, it would be interesting to see that, for example, an intake took .2seconds off a 0-60. keep us posted please!

Excellent thread. And I agree with JustYYaris, it would be great to see some comparisons between these files and some made after mods. Ofcourse you would have to try to keep all other things consistent, like weather, error, etc. Still, very interesting.

Nice thread man!!! BTW I don't know how you are driving and what RPM you are dropping at but it sounds like you may be dumping the clutch. I hit a 0-60 time of 8.2 seconds when I test drove the Yaris. Try maybe catching the clutch instead of dropping it and then easing out of the hole. You should get a pretty good dig and if you learn to do this right it frees you from C.V. and clutch damage. Good job though man keep us all updated.

thats true, i aint no drag racer heh, it was just easier to keep the rev's higher, since it doesnt really take off until 3000rpm

I think the yaris has a fairly inaccurate speedo. Using a GPS, the speedo is abt 8% faster, although my wheels are abt 1% smaller in diameter.
I would say an accurate measurement would be abt 10s. |
