wiper upgrades
Wiper upgrades, wondering which part to use:
Wiper switch 8465252110 ? Or 8465212A20 ? What's the difference between these two? Currently have basic front and rear wiper function, you know 1-3 front w/mist, 1 rear w/mist. The goal is just to add a time delay function to front wiper and leave rear as is. |

wiper
Thanks, for install info. This Will be helpful. Mostly though, I'm confused about which OEM time delay wiper part I want to get. The part in the link ( 8465252110 ) looks to be meant for a rear wiper with 2 rear settings, one of which will not totally work without additional rear wiring for the rear wiper with this install. I'm wondering if anyone knows if ( 8465212A20 )might also work, and if maybe it's more what I need. Which is a switch that has intermittent/mist time delay up front and just 1 setting with mist in the rear. The description for the 12A20 part number is confusing to me and I'm not really sure what functions it actually has. Think what I need is a part description de-coder.

I didnt bother with the OEM. When I bought it, someone had put the cheaper standard metal wiper blades.I replaced then last spring when they were streaking. I bought cheap hybrids, and they broke during a snow storm last month :(
I ended up buying michelin all season hybrid wiper blades from a local auto parts store for $9 in canada. No regrets so far, seems like a good value |

wiper upgrades
I've upgraded the wipers on every car I've ever owned, even the beaters.
Personally I'm a big believer in RainX and I love my RainX latitude wiper on the front. I upgraded the rear wiper to a 16" from the stock 12". The 16" fits perfectly. I suspect the 12" which is the shortest one available was only installed stock due to costs. The stick upgrade is nothing without good wipers! I looked closely at my rear wiper. Because of the design of the OEM blade, I can't install a longer refill. So, I guess you replaced the blade. Which blade did you find that fits the arm?

You're correct, I didn't think about the refil because one replaces the whole blade on Rain X wipers. They don't make refills and their wipers are all one piece.
When you go shopping for blades you'll notice some that have a length followed by a letter. Those are for the rear. You need to get one that has the correct letter and just get a longer length. I think it's R that you need but check the guide before you buy it. I bought a rain x one because that's my preferred brand but any one with the correct connector type will work. For the record I bought one that I had to return because I didn't pay attention to the additional letter next to the length of the blade so be sure it has that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Okay. Thanks a bunch. I'll check out the Rain X blades. I didn't realize aftermarket blades were designed to fit unique OEM rear blade wiper arms.

A little late to the game but I just bought a 09, and noticed the front wipers are both a little short. The leave a rather large unwiped triangle area on the passenger side and a good size area in the upper driver's side corner. Has anyone put larger wipers on either front blades?

It's the driver side that is too short on my 09 LB. The size guides at the store will tell you to replace with a 26" blade. Use a 27" instead. It will fit, and the annoying Bermuda Triangle vanishes.
