Do you have a DIY manual for this? Is it just simply replacing the LED?

I second this question! I would love to tackle this as a personal project.

@ CTScott:: Do you mind PM-ing me the source you get your LEDs from, and which ones you use?

I purchase from Digikey, Mouser and Newark primarily. The LEDs that I use vary.

Hello im new at this forum. I recently purchased an 2006 Yaris and the speedometer is gone out of wack. Basically not showing the correct speed.
Can you help with the repair or can you recommend someone.

Thanks,
dthomas5768

Typically that would be caused by the speed sensor on the transmission being broken. You can verify that by using an OBDII device and see if the incorrect speed is also shown on there.

Will you do a DIY guide for this? I too have the digital speedometer as the Australian mate.
Like what types of leds we need and procedures we need to follow.

The digital one actually requires optical filters, rather than an LED change, as it uses a vacuum fluorescent display.

Can you give more details about this? Is it like a film? You can change it to whatever colour you want?

It is an optical filter film. You can change it to almost any color, provided that you use a combination of filters to neutralize the green and then shift it to the desired color. What color do you want it to be?

White is definitely possible. I would have to do some experimentation to refresh my memory of the filter combination required, but I have changed the green VFDs to white before.

Toyota Yaris 2010 UK model

Hi Dear,

I am from the uk, have just seen your work and totally love the instrument Cluster LED Colour change.

The white colour looks amazing compare to orange.

I hope I lived in USA and got Scott to modify my car too .

I have Toyota Yaris 2010 and would love to change the leds from orange to white. I have attached an image of my dashboard for your reference.

I would be grateful if someone can put up step by step guide and what led bulbs do i need? or email the guide to me on shehbaz_kdy@yahoo.co.uk

I would appreciate all the help on this please as i am new to the form.

Thanks in advance

Baz

Theres already a step by step guide. You can search in the forum. I am curious tho, I bought this analogue cluster from CTScott, canadian cluster but it doesnt have temperature sensor or consumption like my digital one. Is your cluster left hand drive?

Note: I will try to change the cluster colour on my own, I bought the leds, i have them, but i dont have a microsoldering unit.

Thanks for your reply George.

Mine cluster is right hand drive.

Could you please post some links to the Guides on how to change the leds?

Do you know what type bulbs do I have to buy for instrument Cluster colour change, I would like to change it to cool white colour.

Thanks again for your help.

Scott, the 2014 LE I have, has just the speedo and I have ABS. What are my options to use to get one with a tach or go digital?
