Enkei RPF1 issues with fitment?

So i'm real interested in purchasing these wheels. on the FOR SALE section there is a gentleman selling a set of 15's. he has the corolla brake upgrade and had issues with barrel to caliper clearance and spoke to caliper clearance. so i'm glad I came across this issue before I purchased them. (I plan to do brake upgrade in the future)
my question is; does anyone have this wheel in a 16 with the brake upgrade? i'm curious about clearance issues.
also, can anyone explain the weight differences? the 17 is 14.6lbs, the 16 is 13.7lbs but the 15 is only 9.5 or 9.9lbs so to go from 15 to 16 you gain 3.8lbs (or more) but from 16 to 17 it's only 0.9lbs. (???) wouldn't you be adding more material going 16 to 17 than 15 to 16? wouldn't the material be near the same?
has anyone fit the 15" PF01 wheels with the corolla brake upgrade?
again, weird weight differences: the 15 weighs 12.1lbs. where as the RPF1 is 9.5-10lbs. (difference of 2ish lbs) but 16 PF01 is 14lbs. and the RPF1 is 13.7lbs (difference of 0.3lbs)
I really like both of these wheels, and the weight difference is not that different on the 16's so that is probably the direction i'm going in. it's too bad about the fit with the 15's.

16" RPF1s will have no issue clearing the larger brake kit.

To follow thebarber's lead, Enkei PF01 17X7

That's a really interesting observation about the difference in weights from 15 to 16 and 16 to 17. I wonder what's going on there.

I just put RPF1's on my Yaris. I don't have the brake conversion, but what I will say is that RPF1's look a lot smaller in person than they do in pictures. My old wheels were the same size, but the RPF1's look at least a size smaller. I believe it has to do with the spokes not going all the way out to the edge of the wheel. The RPF1's have a double step lip effect going on. It even makes my tires look chunkier.

My two bro-in-laws were pushing me to get 16's, but I didn't want to go that route because I would have had to buy tires and my current set are nearly new. To avoid having to buy new tires, I went with 17's and after seeing them on the car, I'm super happy I did. One of my bro-in-laws commented that he would put 18's on his Civic Si. This is the same guy that was originally telling me to go with 16's.

Another observation I had is that the car has gained a noticeable amount of pep going from my BSA Motorsports wheels to the RPF1's. Given that they're the same diameter, I didn't expect much of a difference, but with the RPF1's being so much lighter, the difference in acceleration is significant. I imagine it would be even better with 16's and 15's, so if optimum performance is what you're going for over looks, it's something to consider. Here's a before and after of my car. Keep in mind that in person the difference is even more drastic than in these pics.

this is always the goal. I've bought many wheels over the years, and weight is the most important part.

I do have a set of Velox PG5S in a 35 offset ,(which they do not make anymore) but I don't want to put them on. the tires are too expensive.
they are like 13lbs. 17"
http://veloxwheels.com/wheels/pg-5s-forged

I should sell them...

Those are nice. 12.5 lbs but just the fact that you own/entertain the idea of 17's is a no-no to some who are all about performance. For some, it's 15's or bust. To some, the mere idea of running 17's is favoring form over function.

I had them on my 7thgen civic coupe. it was so huge that they looked perfect. I had set-up the suspension to be at stock geometry with the 17's and I bought the lightest weight wheels I could find for under $2000. i learned my lesson, and they've been sitting in the shed for....idk 6 years?

there are some good, lightweight options in 15" that won't break the bank...just sort your tire rack finds by weight

surprised konig heliums aren't still all the rage. They use to be what everyone had on their Yaris.

I have 14's on my yaris and could not be happier.

As for the RPF1 weight differences, it sounds like the 15" wheel is basically the 14" wheel with something tacked on, while the 16" wheel is a totally new wheel with a bit more tacked on to make it 17". They could have easily designed it so that the 14 & 15 are almost identical and the 16 and 17 are almost identical. That could also explain the clearance issues.

ah...that makes good sense since the difference on the PF01 is so linear, and it is not available in the 14.
I think you solved it!

always good to add lightness in a car with 100hp

my OEM 14's are very light...but are 14x5.5 or something...

Actually, it's the SE stock brakes that wouldn't clear. I'm not familiar with the Corolla caliper dimensions, but probably will encounter the same issue.

Here's the main issue:

The inner barrel steps in 3 times, this reduces the clearance between the caliper and inner barrel, shearing the sticky weights as they pass the calipers. So unless you run a big spacer to clear the weights, you're better off just getting another set of wheels that weigh a couple pounds more.

+41 offset does hit the spokes, but that's an easy fix with spacers if the barrel clearance wasn't an issue.

and I'm going under the assumption, if the wheels are stated that they "do not clear Miata sport brakes" (15x7 rpf1s are noted this way), they will not clear the SE's.

15x7 Konig Dial In, which were stated to clear Miata sport brakes and Goodwin's big brake kit :

bunch of clearance!

yes, I believe the SE are the same as Tsport witch are the same as corolla, but the SE might just be a few mm Smaller.(?) idk, but that's my guess...
