My girlfriend is a Paramedic. After hearing her opinion on airbags just now, I'll never remove mine. She says she's seen light burns, but mostly on the inner arms of the arm holding the steering wheel. Being that she never talks about what she sees at work, I was shocked in how she reacted when I told her people think airbags are more dangerous than not having one. She summed it up with my type of statement, look at it like population control. Only the stupid people will be harmed...

Has anyone actually LOOKED at their Yaris, especially the LB? There is only inches of car in front of the driver...I'll take my chances with my 6 airbags or whatever the LB has...

Aftermarket wheels look great, but they belong on the track or at the show, that's my opinion.

Just so you know, unless you paid the extra $650 for the side and side curtain air bags, your Yaris only has 2 bags for the driver and passenger. Its a very rare option. I did a search and in our network of 42 dealerships, we had only 1 car with that option. Congrats if you got one of the safe ones! Hard to come by.

My car says it has driver, passenger dash bags, side bags that come out of the A pillar, and side bags that come out of the seat...is that right? Both cars I test drove had the same markings, so I didn't think it was that rare...

Another option is a TRD steering wheel with airbag, I think it was stock from the Supra, looks pretty good.

I indeed have a Momo steering wheel, and indeed the airbag warning light stays on at all times. But I do wear my seatbelt at all times (I'm kinda anal about that)...

you know there was a time when there was no such thing as an air bag. the one in my vw malfuctioned and the light stayed on, the shop told me it would not deploy in that state and they wanted to maintenance it, I drove like that for 3 years, traded it in like that

I guess I'm an idiot too.

There was also a time when there was no such thing as a seat belt...As for your VW having electrical problems, that's no suprise...Why wouldn't you get it serviced?

As for you being an idiot...

because VW service dept. sucked I was unhappy with the car in general and I wasn't all that concerned personally, it passed inspection and I had no problems trading it in for my yaris

as far as your concern for others safety....

well for those who go aftermarket please share a link of which steering wheel hub adapter you bought and/or the quick release hub if you purchased it also. I already spoke to Etimago about this and a shop he went to dropped the parts in for him so yea.

IMO a good set of racing belts would more than make up for the lack of airbag.

Just give them a call on Monday. They don't always update the website but they usually have plenty of the Yaris hubs in stock (same as Scion/Corolla).

alright. how about the quick release? are those universal or is there one specific for the yaris? I'll probably call them up for a price quote
