Although it may not be advisable under very cold weather for what I hear (we don't get too many of those down here)...

I didn't do the coolant bypass because it can get pretty cold where I live and I don't want any issues. Car works awesome with it hooked up. |

Hi Guys,
I had swapped my 1NZFE chip into the 1ZZFE throttle body but after one day of driving... CEL light up.. error code 0172 (fuel trim too rich bank 1) I reset my ecu, and drove again... and the next day... the same error code came out.... These two codes came when i was moving off slowly and with air con on. I swapped the 1ZZFE chip (part number #22030-0D030) back onto the throttle body and there's no CEL till now. But i could feel rpm oscillations when car was slowing down. By adjusting the idling screw, does it helps to remove the oscillations? Should i stick to 1ZZFE chip or try making the 1NZFE chip works? Thanks everyone! |

Leave the 1NZ chip in. That's the way I have it and it works great.

Sorry, I meant to say to leave the 1NZ chip on the 1ZZ TB. I made the swap and I haven't had any issues so far, other that a high idle when cold starting the car.
On the other hand, I've heard from some people that didn't need to swap the chip at all (1zz chip on 1zz TB). I have a theory that the issue is directly related to the TB serial number, but I can't say for sure. I tried compiling a list of serials a few months ago, but it didn't catch on.

With your 1NZ chip on the 1ZZ TB, did you experience any jerking (around 1300rpm) while you were driving? Did you adjust your idling screw? How many turns did you adjust? Anti-clockwise? Thanks in advance, tk-421... |
