Aerial Help
The nut inside my aerial mount seems to have come loose while changing my aerial..
At the moment there is a screw inside which is fixed in quite tight and since the nut is loose i cannot remove it.. Anyone got any ideas on how to tighten it up? (Preferably without removing the headliner!) |

Unfortunately you will have to get up under the back of the headliner to tighten it. From the hatch you can pull the left side of the liner down enough to get a hand with a wrench to the antenna mount.

Here's a picture that I snapped for someone who was trying to get at a mouse nest above the headliner: Work your fingers between the headliner and the weather seal, and the clips will pop out. The left side just has the clips, so you can pop that down, but if you need more access you will have to remove the rear seat shoulder belt mount, which is on the right side. There is a bolt under the plastic cover on the ceiling, that you remove to drop it.

Try dropping the seat belt mount and see if that gives you enough space.

This is from the "Seat Belt" section of the service manual, which can be downloaded from the MicroImage Forum:

The part that the antenna screws to it separate from the piece that the nut screws onto, so the the upper piece must have broken loose. That means either taking the entire thing off and taking it apart to fix it, or replace it.
