Scion tC Motor?

has anyone considered doing or have done this swap?

Looking to see what swaps can be done and really looking to see what it would cost. I'm used to getting KA's for arouns $250 and under but knowing that this is a motor out of a newer car, I know its gonna be more.

I think the 2.4 out of the tC would be a tight fit. My guess would be the 1ZZ-FE (Corolla), 2ZZ-FE (Matrix, Celica), or the new (and not-even-in-the-US-quite-yet) 2ZR-FE (this will be in the xD, and is the motor found in the Yaris SR and Yaris T-Sport).

I would favor the 2zz-ge over the 2zz-fe, 180hp out of the box and a 6 speed man trans... and there are a lot of bolt ons for the 2zz-ge to get the HP#'s in the mid 200's easy

Yeah, I meant 2zz-ge. I wasn't aware there was a difference until now, actually!

2AZ-FE is too big, I'd vote for the 1ZZ-FE with TRD S/C or GT28RS. They have much more potential than the 2ZZ. Also the 4E-FTE or 4/5E-FTE Hybrid, would fit nicely & not weigh the front end down. Anyway you look at it, Yaris is too new a car to be swapping unless you're a Shop (or crazy loaded).

Here in PR (world capital of engine swaps haha ) people are running Scion TC's 2.4L motor on Toyota Tercel.... the result is a very fast ugly car but what the hell they are pulling 12 sec @ 1/4 mile on this things and no Turbo or S/C.

Engine swaps are no problem for me (have tons of resources). I'm debating whether to think about something in the Yaris or continue to save up for a Lexus IS300 as the new project car and just save the Yaris to be the daily/possible show car. The weight of the car is what is making me debate.

So I'm taking no one has done a swap yet besides the RWD Tacoma Yaris at SEMA last year.

Word. You have plenty of awesome motors to choose from. No Holds Barred, I'd do a 3S-GTE AWD 6Speed full-on Cup+ Car (Yaris/Vitz Cup, Road Racing). I can't wait to see what you end up doing.

That was the 2zz-ge that I mentioned earlier... and those engine turboed combined with the 6 speed manual trans sounds like fun

Smile Page 14 Siphon #3

Page 14 of Siphon #3 mentioned that in 2008-ish europe was going to get a 130 hp variant of the yaris. Anybody know if they are refering to the 1ZZ-FE?

I ask because the 1ZZ-FE and 2ZZ-GE share engine/trans mounting points, as well as over all size. A 1zz to 2zz swap "should" be pretty simple...

god 2008 is a long way away... expcially when there is no word that the 130 hp variant will ever make it to the US....
