THROTTLE BODY SWAP NO CEL!!!!
So i did the swap without getting a cel ever. THANK YOU jkuchta for the info.I ordered a new intake manifold, a yaris and a corrola throttle body.Step one was to fill in all the cavaties on the manifold with JB weld then port the opening as much as i could. swapped the chips over on the throttle bodies and removed the epoxy from the idle adjustment screw, then switched everthing over, did a pre adjustment on the idle screw and made a paper gasket which is siliconed in place.

I ported the top to about 2.4" then i tappered down as much as i could, the plastic is thinner the further you go.the factory opening is 1.75".

Nice and clean. Very good job!
I opted for a custom adapter instead of porting the IM. How much did the IM cost? Just curious.

There is a difference at all rpms but more after 2250rpms.more engine power with the ac on which is a big plus. my ASStermater says more tourqe than hp.definetly worth the $250 in total spent.

should be the same...only different item on the 2nz is the pistons/rods (and therefore the displacement)?

nicely done. I've always thought that this mod, done carefully, is a good one.

what do u fill up those 'holes' with? the purpose to 'strengthen' the frame for porting?

NICE WORK, very good thinking on how to get it done, as long as you let the JBWeld cure and it stays that is a nice for DIYers. Just hope nothing ever happens where a chunk might come off of that and go into the engine

Thanks Nexus.I am not to worried about the JB weld it's now a solid ring.Any way if something did happen engines are pretty cheap.

I used JBweld the slow curing type.Mainly to make a flat mating surface for the throttle body.Because of the intake manifold design after porting you have to put JBweld on the inside to get a smoother slope.

Drive a full cycle, usually 80miles on most ECU's and let us know if there are any CEL then? I would love to do this.

Wow very nice. If your gona do something do it right. For the price of the intake manifold its not that bad.
