I must assume this was a timed rally, rather than a stage rally; hardly anyone runs a Bentley in a stage rally these days...
Mind you, timed rallys can get kinda hairy, or they used to in my day! |

Always a blast. We used to lay out rallys 35 years ago, when there wasn't the traffic or the cops that are out there now. We ran 6-hour events that took us over some crazy roads, much of which were gravel. As you may know, gravel comes in many conditions, everything from single-lane tracks to a logging road that was 8 lanes(!) wide, and pool-table smooth.
It is ALWAYS tough on the nerves, no matter how many you run! The first few have the challenge of just staying on route, right to the experienced guys who MUST pass into a checkpoint on EXACTLY the correct second. Hey, any of you old dudes out there remember how to set up a Halda Speedpilot? ;-) |

I love TSD's. Especially the gravel ones like the Totem and the Thunderbird.
Looking forward to the Pacific Forest Rally coming in October. Should be fun. Especially if I get Taisto Heinonen behind the wheel of the lil Yaris. We'll have to wait and see how that develops and waiting for the guys at PFR to decide if we get a spot to run.
