Why dosent my yaris chirp at least second gear

Does the engine not have enough power to chirp at least second gear. Every 5spd car that I have owned in the past was able to at least chirp second gear and sometimes thrid gear. In a way is kinda cool that it dosent but I am not used to it. Its this something that happens only to me or is someone else having the same problem?

try getting squeekier tires or go try on a concrete road or aim for the white lines haha
if u have a 1.3L u have to find the right revs to change gears to get a noise. if not.. maybe your clutch is on its way out ?? eh?

I doubt that my clutch is on its way out, I just bought my 09 yaris 5spd with 7080 miles on it for $10,885. I got a hell of a deal power everything as well

Most of the reason is low power and high gearing, but I've always suspected there is some sort of restrictor somewhere in the clutch line or master cylinder. (I know some S2000's had this.) It makes the clutch engagement a little less harsh and makes life a little easier for the transmission. It would explain the slightly odd feel to the Yaris clutch. In any case, since I'm not trying to bang gears, spin tires, and break my transmission, it doesn't really bother me. I have other vehicles for that.

Ugh, I hope not. The IS300 has it so Toyota has a history of putting them in. AND IT SUCKS. Now I will have to go check...

You're lucky you could even find a manual yaris with power options. The only 5spd sedans I could find were all barebones crap. I ended up getting an auto because I wanted all the other options.

power shifting is probably the only way u can.. gotta be quick though, and dont tear up your transmission. i havent had a problem chirping 2nd, but i can see how it would be difficult with this low hp egg
