Carfax - thirteen vehicle records?

I entered my '08 hatch's VIN on the Carax site for fun. This car has seen the inside of the dealer's shop once, when I took it in to check on the lower suspension bolts. They checked out OK. I also bought a driver's side axle seal from them, but I put it on. Anyway, the Carfax site said it had 13 "vehicle records" on my car. I tried my '08 Ford and my '13 Hyundai, both of which have never seen a dealership, and they said 11 on the Ford and 12 on the Hyundai.

Has anybody here bought a Carfax for a car? What might these "vehicle records" be on a car that has never seen the inside of a dealership since being purchased?

If I put in my VIN, it counts every oil change, emissions test/state inspection and registration renewal as event/record.

Well, that would take care of seven of them (registrations). I do my own oil changes, and there is no state inspection here.

I believe lien transfers and other state related stuff also "counts" so something as simple as paying it off and the lien being released could show.

Well, you can tell Carfax has passed peak usefulness because on mine it lists 44 records as of now, and I'm the second owner. It's a scam to induce people to buy the full report. Autocheck isn't any better because they list 39 records.

Example:
