It was canceled here in Canada just recently, I bought a brand new one in Feb this year as a 2019. I feel fortunate because my previous car got totalled and I knew I had to go Toyota. I'm not buying a rebadged Mazda no matter how good it might be.

The 1NZ-FE has been in use since 1999 or 2000 in the Echo. It's basically about a 20 year old (proven) design. It's not a powerhouse by any means but reliable and efficient.
