Help with short shift

A little problem. When I removed the short shift last time I lost a pin that was holding it in place. As you can see in the picture that is the part that I've lost. Can anyone give me an idea, or a solution ... maybe someone can provide this pin ? Thanks

stick a toothpick in it till u get one...or a safety pin...or even a paper clip.

a zip tie, twistie or twist-tie, or extra speaker wire, hell, even a fingernail will work if you lodge it in there hard enough....it's a freakin jesus clip....anything will do...needle, rolled up foil, florists wire or chicken wire or safety wire....anything to keep the thing from poppin off. that's it, there's no 'structure' or demand for strength, it's just to make sure it doesnt come off.

You can buy leader wire at a fishing supply and make a replacement. Take the part with you to determine the right diameter. Buy more than you need so you can make mistakes. Find, borrow or buy wire twisting pliers.
