Fog Lamp Cover Installation following incident

Okay so what happened is I was driving down a 55 mile an hour stretch in central New Hampshire. My highbeams were on and I had a great vision on the road. Then about 30 feet in front of me, maybe less, a racoon ran out in front of me and I hit him. The front passenger side suffered minor damage. A crack in the bumper, since the incident has been super glued and held up well, and also the fog lamp cover disappeared and was unable to be found. So I bought a new one, it fits, or will fit once the area is fixed up. I'm not entirely sure on how to go about the installation of the cover. If anyone has any tips, advice, or experience with this kind of a problem, please let me know!

What do you mean by cover? Is it the lens? Or is it the entire lamp?

If lens, you are going to have to open the lamp and seperate it and just placed the new lens and then seal it back up.

If you purchased the entire lamp, you will need to take the front bumper off, or pull back your wheel well liner enough to reach the old lamp with a screw driver. Remove the 2-4 screws that secure the lamp to the back of the bumper, twist the bulb and pull it out and slide it in the new lamp. Twist and lock it then reattach the lamp to the bumper via those same screws and then put the bumper/wheel well back on and that should do it.

The cover just pushes on from the front of the bumper. The four slots are what the clips snap into.

The clips are damaged then. It fits in, but will not snap. If I attempt to drive with it in, guaranteed it will fall out. How can I repair the clips and where can I buy them, if I can?

yeah, I bought the cover out of my toyota dealership. The installation of the damaged area is a bit trickey. Not sure if I need to remove anything or not. I've never encountered this incident before.

Send a message via AIM to cali yaris
Or, if you're not planning on replacing that with a foglight kit, silicone or hot glue it.

With the position of the crack I can see that being an issue. Like CaliYaris said, some type of adhesive would be the way to go. I personally would use Automotive Goop (available at any auto parts place or most hardware stores) and just put a dab on each of the 4 clips. Then, if you eventually decide to replace the bumper you can fairly easily get the cover off and reuse it.
