Add an extension and you're all set.

yeah, I think I will eventually go with your 3" shift extension but I just love the look and the feel now so I'm sort of torn.

Does one need the extension with the Micro Image shift kit?

^ You don't 'need' it. It's a personal choice where you want your shift knob to sit with respect to height. I like a shorter, crisper throw, but higher, because I find myself reaching for the knob at stock height.

This is especially true at the track. We have 2" and 3" extensions available.

I'm not really sure, I am curious myself. I would give customer service a call as they are not always on top of email from my past experience.

The cage might be different between the two specs. I have a JDM short shifter I've never installed. I'll have to compare it to the USDM one in my car.

I'll be happy to take over that JDM short shifter after you check out the difference.

In the meanwhile i have gotten a reply from TWM, base on the description of the year/model...they said i should be getting the Euro/jap version.

They replied to me pretty quick, discount the timezone difference.

That pretty much settles the question that there are two versions and they are probably not cross-compatible. Once I confirm it, I'll sell my TRD JDM one.

No No,

i dont really like having the TRD quickshift together with the new in-engine shifter. Even with the shifter cable bracket installed, it still too stiff to shift for my liking.

The TRD quickshift knob is also way too light, so i'm already changed back to stock.

I would give the TWM short shifter a try tho
