Anyone else have any real world reviews to share? Those of you who have owned NST pulleys for several thousand miles... it would be much appreciated if you would chime in with your updates.

Thank you.

Just had the NST CR Lite Crank pulley installed at a mechanic. They quoted me $90 labour an hour. They did the job in just under 30 minutes and charged me $45 woot.

First thing I noticed was when I put my foot on the gas pedal the car responded quicker and appeared to take off from a stop start faster and easier.

Then I drove around for a while with a big grin on my face and was very happy when a set of lights turned red (another chance for a take off test). I'm very happy with the NST product and would recommend it to anyone and everyone with a Yaris.

My wife has a 1.3 litre Yaris, I think the biggest gain would be on her engine. Maybe I’ll talk her into one of these and then get the 10% underdrive for myself.

NST FTW!

The bodyshop at the dealership noticed my NST pulleys and asked me all sorts of questions about them and were quite impressed. I think my Yaris is the only one they've seen that has just more than aftermarket wheels on it. Over 50k miles so far on my pulleys and I couldn't be happier.

11K miles on my NST Underdrive pulley. 15 autocross events, 3 time trials. Zero problems, dyno-proven HP gains (see dyno thread), completely satisfied with the quality, aesthetics and performance of the product.

I'm not sure if this is normal, but I was checking the pulleys I installed, well the waterpump nst pulley is starting to get engraved into. Meaning the belt is digging into the pulley so that theres an engravment from the belt in it is this normal if anyone knows what i am talking about?

Yes, that is normal, everything will wear off eventually, even the strongest materials, just give it enough time and friction. The OEM water pulley is painted black, but when I took mine off it had a shiny strip where the belt makes contact.

Think of it almost as an infinite polishing machine

so eventually overtime I will have to replace the pulley? Is there a set certain amount of miles that NST recommends to replace it if so? It has been about 25-30 thousand miles since I installed these. I think it is also why my belt is squeaking everytime i start up because it is loose due to friction engraving its place in it lol

Hmm, honestly, I don't know, but then aluminum is lighter and softer than steel, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if it wears off much quicker. Can you really see/feel a groove where the belt sits? If it's just polished shiny I wouldn't worry too much. It would be interested to compare with an older OEM water pulley, see if you get the same wear after a while.

My belt is squeaking too, 1 in 10 starts I'd say, because I couldn't get it as tight as it should be. But I'm working on adapting the Scion xD belt tensioner to the Yaris and if I can make it work, I'll post the DIY

no the groove is pretty deep i say about 1-2mm, u can feel the edges perfectly where the belt sits on the pulley

is there a big difference installing the power pulley set versus the underdrive pulley alone? i mean is it worth it?

Thank you!
