Sorry to hear about that.

Don't mean to sound harsh, but something bad was going to happen when you allowed that person in your car.

Why on earth would you leave your car while there's a total stranger riding in it?

I live about 5 miles from you, in Perkasie, Pa. Real sorry to hear that your Yaris was stolen. Where was it stolen, what area? What police dept. did you report it to? It was fully insured?
My son's Honda SI was stolen this year, and they found the shell, major strip, in North Philadelphia. It was fully insured, so he then purchased an S2000.

With the insurance money your son was able to purchase an s2000?

He purchased private a 2000 S2000, with the insurance and some cash. (It was a car that did not hit the reserve on Ebay). I did not mean for it to sound like he was able to do it without some additional cash.

I did not want to get off the subject of what has happened, a Yaris being stolen, and not being insured. I really hope they find this car in the new condition it was in. I would not count on the local police doing much.

dood, why didn't you get the car insured???

hope the cops can track it down for you; but won't they bust you for driving sans insurance?

Sometimes you are covered for X number of days under the insurance for your old vehicle. Not sure if it is the law or just the policy of some insurance companies. But you should report it to your company the day you get it.
Also yes it was very dumb to leave a stranger in your car with the keys, but if you get it back, it will probably be wrecked, and you will then get fined or your driver's license pulled for driving with no insurance. The police will not give you your car back without insurance if it does happen to be driveable. That was a $13K mistake bud....

well hopefully this will snap him into reality... even if you're nice to people, truth is they won't always "appreciate" it... especially when they're actually looking to steal your car :|

Hope you get your car back in normal condition :x
