A blazing blue Yaris lb shouldn't be too hard to find. There's what... maybe 10 in the whole state?
Hpoe this all works out OK. Helping people is still the right thing to do, well grounded fears aside. I paid cash too and my PA dealer wanted proof of insurance before handing me the keys. |

I did not want to get off the subject of what has happened, a Yaris being stolen, and not being insured. I really hope they find this car in the new condition it was in. I would not count on the local police doing much. |

Wow.. you have a new car 3 weeks driving it around with no insurance??? Then you let a complete stranger into your car, leave it running while you step out of it?? I am sorry but that is just stupid to do as I am sure you realize now. Not only that but you are lucky you didn't get into an accident with the car. At fault accident with no insurance. Oh the Police would have fun with that one.

Correct me if I am wrong but dont you have to sign a paper saying that you wil provide full coverage insurance on your car at the time of purchase. Cant you go to jail or something for that?????

Sometimes you are covered for X number of days under the insurance for your old vehicle. Not sure if it is the law or just the policy of some insurance companies. But you should report it to your company the day you get it.
Also yes it was very dumb to leave a stranger in your car with the keys, but if you get it back, it will probably be wrecked, and you will then get fined or your driver's license pulled for driving with no insurance. The police will not give you your car back without insurance if it does happen to be driveable. That was a $13K mistake bud.... |

In Wi. they don't check your ins. unless you are financing or leasing the vehicle. I think this guy is making up a story.. 1. If he has cash to buy the car, why he didn't get insurance for 3 weeks? 2. If he lease or finance the car, the dealer must check his insurance (no matter which state). From all these fact.. either he is dumbass or he is making up a story. |

I figured he was trolling too. The fact that it was a one post and run is more evidence. Why didn't someone flame me for my "helping others is nice" comment?

I sure hope this isn't for real because if it is, it's just plain stupid. First, don't give anyone a ride, it's just not safe these days. Second, insure the damn car. Thirdly, proofread your posts because they are damn hard to read!
