Post Leason learned, and a public plea

Recently purchased a NST 10% UD pulley from a fellow YW member in New York. Was extremely happy with making the purchase until the seller notified me that he had shipped it. It was then that I realized that I failed to request USPS for shipping. Package was on it's way to Canada via UPS. SHIT!!

Driver shows up, and requires payment of $54.99 for brokerage, taxes and duties. I think I now have what is quite possibly the most expensive NST UD in North America at a total cost if approx $148.00 CDN.

Since we here do a lot of buying and selling amongst ourselves, please make the postal system the first place to go when looking to ship parcels.

Thanks folks.

wow, I do a lot of shipping between car parts and fish stuff I use and sell. I've learned ups is great inside the us but it's a lot safer and cheaper to go through usps, maybe about $10-$20 more that us. Also if you guys use flat rate boxes it's even cheaper.

Would it have been cheaper for you not to sign and accept the package and then it would have been returned to sender who you could have given them more money to send it to you the way you wanted?
