Well, I just spent $13 for a black t-shirt. That justifies the $3000 that apparently will get me back up to factory stated hp.

Umm, true. Sadly, that's why far too many American's are up to their eyeballs in debt. I feel VERY fortunate that although I am not rich (far from it) I owe nothing to anybody. If I cannot afford to pay for it by the time the bill comes in, I don't buy it, because it means I cannot afford it. I do not keep balances on credit cards...banks pay ME interest, I don't pay banks interest.

If you buy a worthless gas cap for $40, and have debt on your credit cards, that silly cap winds up costing far more than the already silly cost of $40 (for a GAS CAP!!) with the interest you're paying to the credit card company. Why would anybody do that? Sorry, I don't get it....

Some people love there cars and anything JDM they can buy and put on. I can appreciate it, car pride is a good thing to have. Take a look at a lot of the cars around this forum. However, I personally I agree with you, $40 for a gas cap is nuts.

But you must admit it looks a lot better than the plain old boring black stock gas cap. A lot of people on here also enter there cars into comps, having JDM parts and or different parts to anyone else helps you win those comps.

This is a car forum after all. I bought an aftermarket air horn, most people on here appreciate that. Some people are like "Why would you buy a horn when your car has one".

That's the beauty of a forum, it's full of opinions. None are right (except mine

) and none are wrong (except captavise

).

You sure aboout that? Check post #3 of Constantin; is the filler neck of his Yaris any different from ours?

I think it's really nice! But for $40, only you get to admire it for a few seconds each time you fill up.

...as long as it is going on YOUR credit card, and YOU'RE paying the finance charges on top of the $40 ($40 for a GAS CAP, lol!!) I am very happy...and relieved it's not my money.

This mod will add significant horsepower as it allows the gas tank to run under higher pressures thereby increasing fuel to the engine...

Or it just looks nice...

Lets put this "performance" mod right on the wall with the TRD radiator cap and TRD fuse box cover. If you have the money, cool, but people who waste their money on parts like these tend to not have it for long.

But who am I to judge?

I'm just glad this was posted in the cosmetic modifications section.
