Tigertecs and Bump Stops
Well, today I became the proud owner of the Tigertec springs that Micro Image has for sale. My problem is that I don't know if I should cut the bump stops or not. I have tried searching for any help, but so far I have turned up nothing. So, for anyone that has already purchased and installed these, I would love to know what you guys/girls did. Thanks in advance!

I would love to see your hatch after the install! I live in Greensboro and go to Forsyth Tech, plus I'll probably be getting springs very soon....

Sounds good... Im always in winston(school@fo-tech), I'm suprised I havnt seen another hatch with netz emblems... although I guess its a big city. There is one other black hatch who I thought was you at first... but he already had some lowering springs and differnt tails....

I honestly haven't even seen another modified Yaris around. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. I'm looking forward to meeting more though.

is the bump stops the silicon stuff on the shocks/struts? if so, yes u need to cut it in half. that's what mikenacarato did to mine. and no spring compression needed.

I never cut the bump stops on my trd springs nor did i read anything about having to cut them on the instructions that came with them from Toyota. Seeing that tigertech has an even higher spring rate than the trds i dont think it would be much of a issue.
This has been a debate since almost the age of dinosaurs. |

The TRD springs don't need the bumpstops cut. Most of the others though have cut them, or went with fatcat motorsports bumpstops. I did the later.

As far as I know, I was the first owner of TigerTec springs and when I installed them, I didn't cut the bumpstops and have had no problems at all. I also installed them with a set of Tokico blue shocks so that might be a different thing than if you have only stock shocks. But agains, they are higher spring rate than trd's so you should be fine if you dont cut. Like the other guy said, this debate is dinosaurs age old

Well guys, I took the liberty to cut the bump stops, you know, just to be sure. I finished the install about 30 mins ago, and just to look at the car, you can see the difference. The ride didn't seem to change much, but that's because it's only been 30 mins. I will have some pics up later on this evening, before/afters, height, etc.

Alright guys, here they are. The before and after my spring install. They dropped it quite nicely. I'm gonna have to do something about my exhaust though, it's that much closer to the ground. Anyways, here you go!
Also, figured I would toss my Netz pic in there real fast. |

i think the drop is great! it's not too much and it's not too little. plus the added stiffness from the springs, and it gives you a little more confidence. now to just get something to fill the wheel wells...

Your wheel gaps will close up a bit after the springs settle in. After the settling in, the Tigers give a very nice look and stance.

NOT needed because Mike and his friend pushed down while I put the top on and screw in the nut so he can than use his Air gun. But if you are doing this by ur self please use spring compressors
