What's old is new again: Enkei Classic Compe

I've had my eye on these wheels for a while. They are a new release for 2013. My set just came in yesterday:

I do need to apologize as these wheels are not currently on a Yaris. I just wanted to share them here because they do come in a variety of sizes that would fit a Yaris. They come in this matte gunmetal finish or gloss white in a variety of 15 or 16 inch sizes. I ended up going conservative on the sizing and went with the 15x7+38mm offset with some 195/50 Dunlops. This particular combo would also work great on a Yaris with no fender mods needed.

The one downside of this wheel is that they are a bit on the heavy side. I believe the original Compe 8's came out in the 70's as a heavy duty rally wheel, where strength was the main goal. 16x8 weighs a whopping 19lbs according to Tirerack. I have to admit I am still tempted to buy another more aggressive set anyway since I am a wheel whore.

Those are neato...

Rota RB's are a similar style except being lighter. I got some flat grey paint to spray the centers of mine because I want that same "mag" look.

Rotas lighter than Enkeis? That's just not right.

Nice wheels, actually they are a copy of Minilite wheels. They were made for 60s minis, and later for other small cars. Others have copied over the years.

Thanks. I actually think they would look much better in the gloss white finish but all the ridges on the lip would make them incredibly difficult to keep clean.

I like the DZ101s because they are cheap and seem to last long. Grip isn't the greatest and I wish the sidewalls were a little stiffer, but they do seem to do well in the rain. I wish more people around here liked RPF1's; I've been trying to sell them for a while with no luck.

That would definitely look cool.

These are the Rota RB specs for the same size as the 19 pound Enkei's:

Size: 16x8
Pattern: 4x114.3
Offset: +10mm
Hub Bore: 73mm
Weight: 16.55 lbs

2.4 pounds difference per wheel is a significant amount of rotating weight.

My 15X7 RB's are 14.3 lbs.

Did you get them mounted yet? I'm anxious to see the whole effect of them on the car.
