Common Problems with the Yaris

Hi first post.
I am looking to purchase a 1.33 Petrol Toyota Yaris.

I was wondering if someone could tell me about what to look for.
The car as STOP/START feature.With six speed manual gearbox.

I have read on the internet about the following

Grinding noises when braking, although the brakes and discs are OK
Jerky accelerator pedal.

Are there any problems with the gearbox, timing chain, engine etc.

Any advice information would be greatly appreciated.
