Light weight wheels
Hey all, I was wondering if you knew of any wheels that are lighter than the tstock ones. Looks are not important to me, as I would probably use my oem covers as well.

The RPF1's are lighter than the 6UL but cost almost twice as much.
You can see a huge list of wheel weights here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/24224938/Rim-Weight |

I'm not sure I understand your request: you want lighter wheels that can re-use the stock hubcaps? That rules out pretty much everything, since alloy wheels can't use hubcaps, but another 15" steel wheel is likely to weight just as much...

I know that the Heliums will not be available for another few monts from the manufacter. I just purchased some Feathers which I like. I did not get the RPF1s , less than 10lbs, cause I would had to use a 7in width tire and they are twice as much. Stock are 16lbs. Heliums and Feathers are about 12lbs. RPF1s are less than 10lbs.

Thank you all for your answers. Crankyoldman, my thinking was to make it look as close to stock as possible that's why I said I wanted to keep the wheel covers. I was hoping maybe there were steelies that were light.

Why not just stick with the stock wheel then? The stock wheels aren't TOO heavy, and you're planning on re-using the stock covers for them.
If you want a lighter alloy wheel, you probably won't be able to re-use the stock wheel covers. I currently have SSR type F wheels in a 16x7 size +42 offset, they weigh about 11lbs each, but they're a little on the pricey side. |

Don't understand why. Aren't the Yaris' light enough? Any lighter and they'll blow away in the wind while standing still.

Essentially makes the engine work more efficiently by having to work less to rotate lighter wheels (frees up some existing hp to the wheels), so better acceleration. Also enables you to stop sooner and corner better. Oh, and better mpg.
