All Weather Floor Mats Front and Rear Question
ok so we get our new 3dr hatch back yaris next Thursday and are in need of some good rubber all weather floor mats. What we are looking for the rear is a one piece long rubber mat. Since we have two kids and live in the Mtns. its pretty much a necessity :) What do you all recommend? Looking for black or grey in color too. We have husky and highland mats for our jeep but it appears they don't make them for the yaris???
thanks |

I got a set of heavy-duty gray rubber mats at Costco for $20 -- however, the rear mats are separate.

I'm looking for the same thing for my wife's new Yaris. Weathertech makes a fitted set of front mats (only generics for the rears, but she's generally the only one in the car so I'm not too concerned).
I know their mats for the Mazda3 are pretty good from word of mouth, but don't know anything specifically about their Yaris mats. Anybody here tried them? |

I have had my eye on those Weathertechs. I have been wondering about how good they are myself. Would be nice to hear something.

If nobody has anything bad to say about them I'll try picking up a set in a couple weeks. I'm still wondering if any of the $20 Walmart sets will fit well, though. The Weathertechs are a little pricey, and I'm not above doing some trimming to save cash.

I picked up the wal-mart set (the kind that have lots of room for debris) and have been pretty happy with them. Got front and rear (although rear doesn't go all the way across, I used 2.) I will try and take a picture for everyone. They fit pretty nicely and do the job.

Wal-Mart has good all weather mats. They have deep grooves in them for catching snow and water. I used some on my truck before, and I need a set for this winter.

Weathertech is the only mfr I have found that makes floor mats for the Yaris. However, I'm not sure I care for the design of them or the $100 price tag. Based on the images provided on their web site it looks like they would not do a good job of catching water and dirt towards the front of the mat. Anyone know of other mfrs?

I picked up a set of generic Rubbermaid mats from Target, but returned them when they didn't fit. Last night I decided I was done screwing around and ordered a pair of the Weathertechs (front only; my wife never has anyone in the back anyway). They should be here tomorrow night according to FedEx. I'll post some impressions after I've had a chance to try them out.

I got the Weathertech mats today, and they don't fit. Not even close. Three or four inches too long on the back. The mats were labeled "Toyota Camry" but when I called them up they were pretty sure it was the right part number.
I took some pictures (at their request) and emailed them to Weathertech. I don't know if they were made for the sedan and not the Liftback, if they sent me the wrong mats, or what. Not too happy about it at the moment, though. After talking to them I trust they'll make it right, but I still don't have a set of mats for the wife's car. Anybody have any specifics (or pictures) of that set of Wal-Mart mats that fits? I'm really getting fed up with buying mats then returning them.

Ok peeps...I have the solution for all ya'all. I picked up the floor mat system that I have and loved them so much that we got them for our 05 Ford Freestar. They are laser cut and fit perfectly. The rear is a single sheet. You can get them in different colors and you can spill a 2 litre bottle of soda on them and it won't run off anywhere...I posted pics when I got them last year along with the site...lemme find the thread....

Ok, I found the thread that I talked about getting them, but apparently never took pics of them in my car...anyway I can if someone wants to see...They are awesome...great especially during the winter....didn't freeze solid even with any water build up.

Google found a place that sells the Hexomats for $45 for the fronts with free shipping, so they've a good bit less expensive than the Weathertechs. How do they wear at the heel?

The Hexomat is kinda like the top half of the Weathertech mats; there's no lip around the outside perimeter of the mat to keep water and gunk from spilling over the sides. I don't know if this is actually a problem. It was just my thought when I compared them to the Husky brand mats. However, Husky does not appear to make mats for the Yaris yet. I ended up buying some all weather mats from WalMart for $27 for set of four. The front fit pretty good but the backs are a little too small. I have to keep the front driver side mat positioned just right to keep the clutch from getting hung up on it. Should get better once the mat relaxes and conforms to the floor a little better.

Well I have run them for close to a year now and I have no issue at all with spill over. The honeycomb design keeps all residue in the mat. As for the wear at the heel I can tell you that when I have my interior detailed (don't have the time to do it myself) they look just like I pulled them out of the box with no wear. Someone mentioned having to deal with the pedals...that is no issue with the ones from the company that I purchased. Someone also mentioned the mat coming out of place? These come with the holes spaced correctly for the little hooks that the factory mats use. I also installed them in my wife's Freestar as well and it is just amazing at how they work. I have two children that don't give 2 dead flies smashed about anything when it comes to cleanliness and cars...these mats handle their muddy feet, snowy feet, and rain covered feet like a champ. I will really have to take pics...hopefully tomorrow if the weather holds up. I have had weathertechs in the past and truly feel like they were too bulky and a pain in the ass to deal with...especially taking them in and out of the vehicle. I just figure as well why get a generic fit when you can have laser cut perfection like a glove. Hell in the wife's van they literally are built to cover the entire floor in the van...the front piece is a single cut spanning the front of the van from side to side even going in under the seats by a couple inches. The middle piece spans side to side doing the same as the front to include coming down between the captain's style seats there. There is a strip that goes on the floor in front of the third row and then the one for the hatch ...hell the set even came with an additional section for when we have the third row stowed.
