Swapped my center exit tailpipe today.

Kind of got tired of the big 'dual' pipes, so today I swung by my local muffler shop and slapped on a slightly more conservative single oval pipe ($30 installed). Kept it center exit of course, just cuz that looks sick anyway I look at it
I kno I kno, I have no rear lip or diffuser so cut me some slack. I actually want to pick up two rear tow hooks from Garm, just cuz I think that might look neat. He sells them in red or blue for $40/ea. Will red be too toy-like on my blue paint job?
Anyway, any and all constructive criticism or (gasp) compliments are appreciated

I liked the dual bombs, personally. But you get props either way because of center-exit anything. I really want center exit exhaust. How much does rerouting an exhaust like that usually run?

And I'd see if I could find an S rear lip for cheap somewhere before two tow hooks. But if you must, I'd do blue. The red will clash too much on a pale blue like that. Awesome work though!

Thanks! I liked the duals too but I had them since last summer, so it was kind of an impulse thing. Shop over here wanted $100 to make my center exit, I bargained it down to $80.

Problem with an S lip is that I'd have to paint it if I can't find my color, plus won't it look funny with a rear lip but no side or front skirts?

I have to agree with you.. the dual exhaust tips did look a bit weird that big, but maybe if you had gone with a smaller diameter instead, it would have looked a lot better, imo.

The oval tip looks better on the Euro cars... again imo.

Just some constructive criticism for ya. (I have a fart can on my car, so go figure. lol.)

A single tip will really need something to conform around it. How about adding some garage door bottom seal to the front and rear? That way you can have something around it, and it'll match the front.

LOL Fallen. @Kaotic: Interesting idea. I need an ironclad DIY on that, cuz I'm having a vision me screwing that up and having it fly off my car on the freeway, clothes-lining some clam of his crotch rocket, then me getting sued.

LOL Malibu. The 'nekkid' had me rofl a lil bit. The duals were inspired by Cooper S. The oval is inspired by Boxster, which isn't a bad thing, imo. And I know it's a Yaris, but to our consolation the Boxster is kinda slow considering the price, although it does have hairpin handling, but I digress.

@ Rockland I don't suppose I'd get you real fired up by routing it out the sides Viper style, LOL.

I agree with this; whether it is single or dual, a center exhaust looks funny just hanging there. There needs to be bodywork surrounding it.

Of the two, I prefer the dual tips.

And about that particular single tip, there is just no nice way to say this (and I don't mean to be a butthole about it): it kind of looks like a butthole. I think it is because the tip has the metal surrounding the little black hole in the middle. If you're going to go with a single, just use a plain, single wall, polished stainless steel tip.

Finally, a single side exhaust would be interesting...

My center exit just "hangs there like a pair of balls" as one of my Civic friend says, lol. I think it's just the shape and size that will determine if anything needs to surround it.

Double sided tape and self-tapping screws or zip ties. I'm using garage door bottom seal as a "splitter" under my front lip.

Dual center exhaust here too. I like yours. If you like it, then that's all that really matters.

lol. Can't agree or disagree, as I don't recall the last time I took a good look at a butthole. So I guess I'll just take your word for it!

Well, at least you weren't totally offended by my remarks. But as others have said, if you like it then that's all that matters.
