you wouldn't believe this but...
OK HERE GOES...
I just went to the dealer and said that the truck for the Yaris I want is here...and so I came down and rushed to the dealer , and they told me the only black yaris there that I want is 14430 and has an 1800 dollar TRD 18" rims and wheels plus install, well guess what that ran the price more than the Scion tC release... but they where giving it to me for 17,005 and there gonna throw in a free CAI... but when they showed it to me it was park beside this yaris that just got loaded off the truck when we got there so, I was lookin at the sticker price its "18005" I couldnt believe its cost that high... He was laughling at me and told me to look at my back "which is a black tC that just came off the truck an hour later than the yaris I want" and the sticker price is very shocking "its 16,920" he said he can give me a $500 OFF" and he told me that the Yaris is not even worth the price for the car, "he told me to drive both cars, and I did the Yaris is quite slow with those 18"s it feels just like a stick corolla but it is faster turning... and then he let me test drive a tC stick too... OK it is much faster and looks nice inside, although it eats gas... so I have to decide... well they told me to just get tC but I really wanted the yaris... so I made up my mind and decided to buy both of them, well sorta... I bought the tC and I'm just buying a Yaris 5dr orange in Canada on september this year... just because I want it for autocross... and I cashed the tC out so I can still get a Yaris... WELL PIPZ WHAT DO YOU THINK??? |

that car dealer did everything wrong.
first off, they marked up a less expensive car that people really want. second, they told you to buy the tC. TOLD you to, even though you just said in your thread that you really wanted the Yaris. that type of car dealer is the type that gives all car dealers a bad name. it's bullshit and when people come to my lot they always are pissed because dealers do this type of bs. you could tell them to take the rims off, ask why the car is 18,005, etc... the tC was probably that dealer's bonus car so he wanted you to buy it to put more money in HIS pocket, even though its not really what you originally wanted. |

I hate crooked dealers.
I think 18 inch rims on the Yaris are way oversized anyway. Even 17's look big to me on this car. I wouldn't go over 16 inches personally and I think 15's fit the car very well. Just my opinion. I would go with a totally different Yaris at a totally different dealership. Go ahead and string these guys along though they deserve it. Tell them you are on your way to pick it up stuff liek that. Spend an hour or so haggling with them and then walk out maybe even come back and do it again. Trust me if they are pulling shit like this no matter what "deal" they give you they will certainly change the "deal" when you get to the back room to sign the paper work. There are plenty of other Yaris and you can buy another one from an honest dealer and put what you want on the car, my opinion.

Are there any problems with buying a Yaris in Canada and bringing it down into the states and registering it? I really want 5 doors and a tachometer.

Holy shit, he put you in a tC?
What all was on that Yaris for 14,330. He may not have hosed you, it may have just been fully loaded. That is about what they go for. Of course, I believe the tC gets power everything standard. Its one of Scion's selling points. However, it also gets around 20 MPG. What exactly are you looking for a Yaris for? If it was to save gas on a long commute, that dealership just bent you over and you let them. Shame on you. If it was just because you wanted a funky car and gas prices don't bother you much then honestly, I think the tC is a better choice. The tC is a nice car. The Yaris is a gas-sipping econobox... can't make it more than it is. |

HOLY CRAP THIS THING DOESN'T HAVE TRACTION!!!
WELL I WAS AT A STOP SIGN WITH A YARIS SEDAN A/T I GUESS... "coz it doesnt move back when it shifts" AND THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN DID WHAT I USUALLY DO ON 1ST GEAR AND WHEN I LET GO OF THE CLUTCH THE WHEELS SPINNED FOR LIKE 3 SECONDS... THE YARIS A/T LEFT ME BY 6 CARS LENGTH!!! AND THEN I STALLED THE ENGINE... HERES THE PROS AND CONS OF THE TC PROS 1ST: 1.IT LOOKS LIKE A LEXUS "MY NEIGHBOR WITH THE ACURA THOUGHT ITS A LEXUS" 2.POWER ON THE FREEWAY... 3.ITS A BIT ROOMIER THAN A YARIS... 4.ITS CHEAP FOR THE ENGINE... 5.A/C IS SEMI-DIGITAL CONS: 1.CANT USE FIRST GEAR FOR STARTS 2.IT SUCKS GAS 3.THERE IS VERY LITTLE TRACTION 4.TOUGH TO AUTO-X 5.SHIFTER FEELS LIKE THE COROLLA "I LOVE THE YARIS DIRECT SHIFTER" 6.THE SHUTTERS FOR THE PANORAMA SUNROOF ARE VINYL! 7.PEOPLE THINK ITS EXPENSIVE "GANGTA'S WILL STEAL THIS CAR" 8.HIGH INSURANCE RATES... OVERALL PRETTY NICE FOR THE PRICE... |

As far as I can see, the size of the car itself, and the interior layout is exactly the same, except for the extra set of doors
