Sunscreen handprints on Yaris paint, how to remove?
I have handprints/fingerprint marks all over one side of my Yaris; after 5 washings they are still there. I have become convinced that the damage was caused by sunscreen. How can I remove these without damaging the paint and without costing myself a huge amount of money?
I read somewhere that I should use T-cut; however other websites say that this is too harsh. Should I use a rubbing compound/wax at all? I am looking to Yaris World's expertise re: the Yaris specific paint. |

try some 3m Rubbing compound
or you can try rubbing some gas on it, or mineral spirits that usually cleans it well |

Should I start with a polish?
I read that a car polish is like a less abrasive form of rubbing compound. Should I try a car polish first, and then if this doesn't work move to a rubbing compound? Should I wash off the polish before applying the rubbing compound in this case?
Sorry if these are elementally questions but I am a car neophyte. The handprints are all over the right rear side of the car, but they don't seem like they affected the paint very deeply. If I should try a polish, which one should I use? How should I apply it? Also how does mineral spirits/gas work in removing these handprints? |
