Integra Type R motor swapped into yaris?

CAN IT BE DONE?? as crazy as this might sound i would love to have a type r motor in my yaris. it would make it such a sleeper on the street. i know it is not practical but i want to hear what you guys think.. could this be done? custom mounts custom drive shafts? custom wiring.

.... Are you for real?

You'd need mounts, all new wiring harness, fuel lines, axles, convert the care to cable instead of drive by wire.

...... Really?

Just go buy a Honda.

not a fan of mixing manufacturers, but hey, like with anything else you might want to do to a car it comes down to how much money and skill you have on hand...

umm... I did all that except for the mounts -- but with my own motor.

I say go for it -- but it's a LOT of work and many thousands of $$$.

I've heard some people in Puerto Rico have Corolla XRS engines on Yaris.

ok look im all for trying new things and weird hybrids, but are you serious? like really? if you want to put THAT engine in there, you must've been part of the Honda crowd before this. and if you were, you must know there are better honda engines out there than that crappy thing.

The K20 is pretty nice or K24 in the TSX i think it is, but still even the H22 would be a better swap. But you would need custom everything... you'd get more respect from both honda and toyota crowd if you just turboed it or swapped in another toyota engine...

but if you MUST do it, why not its something new, go for it

It would be cheaper and easier to do it in a 10-15 year old civic. And it would handle better than the yaris anyway. But to answer your question, it could be done. I'm convinced you could put a small block chevy in the yaris if you really wanted to. Is it logical and sane? No.

Amen. The ONLY exception I've seen that I like the results of is swapping an LS1 into a 944 chassis just to get rid of those cantankerous, high-strung and overly expensive 2.5l engines they came with.

You want to do a fun project with similar results, Get a 3gse (Beams 2.0L)...Its heavy, but produces about the same HP as a Type R motor.

Or if your looking for just to bounces the rev limiter all day, 4age Blacktop series motors have about 160 hp, can get them up to about 180whp with some tweaks and they have been built to a 11k RPM rev limiter.

There ya go, no Vtec, but you get a badass Yaris.

As for the cost of project, in all honesty. If you must do something origional, stay with your Yaris...if your trying to build something fast, just grab you a beater Civic/CRX off Craigslist for a $1500 and go from there. If you stick with a Yaris, the cost of custom EVERYTHING is going to get high, quick. Once you start getting ideas, or the shop starts working...one thing leads to another, and your budget minded project just doubled in cost.

Now for that CRX...Swap in a built/sleeved Intergra LS motor (Vtec optional), boost it. Swap the transmission for a GSR one...Dont forget a nice Stage 2-3 clutch. You can get some pretty serious numbers this way (HP numbers and 1/4 mile numbers), and in a CRX...that sucker would fly! $7000 later you have a built turbo CRX. Take another $3000 and get a nice rims (width wise), some sticky street tires, some good suspension...Youll be spanking newer and nicer cars all day long for a $10,000 price tag. If I had realized in the long run that I would want a nice quick street/drag car, I might have gone this route.

Sorry dude. That motor may be good in a civic or crx, but quite a headache in a toyota. I"m not one to tell you how to spend your money, but i hope you're prepared for some dollahs! I've spent $24k to swap entire UDSM drivetrain/motor/trans/axles/hubs/etc. from the SAME manufacturer.
Subies are expensive though. But be prepared for lots of un-forseen costs.

2ZZ works, less headache, & you stay in the Toyota family, plus a Type R engine & trans is going to run you $4500-$5500 compared to a 2ZZ that will run you $2500-$3500

I mean really, theres a guy here in Orlando who has a 2JZ swapped S2000....its cool, origional, but would be cooler just to have a Supra built heavily with all the cash that was spent for that swap.
