ugh...help on paint...

Well gents....i've been looking for posts on painting eyelids..i dont know if I'm searching right ...but all I get are things related to the eyelids...question is...

what paint is recommended for it...and for that shiny finish...
how many grits for sanding...
and is there a d.i.y for this?

i want to get my materials ready for the arrival of my 'lids..

please point me in the right direction if possible..

what color is your car?

since it's a cosmetic piece, why not give them to a bodyshop to spray for you?

agreed, it will save you money, but there is no DIY match for polar white. i myself have tried to colormatch for my PW car and it did not turn out well.

if you do decide to do it yourself,

www.expresspaint.com may do the job.

sand them with 320 to 400 grit, two light coats of adhesion promoter, two light coats of primer, two light coats of color, two coats of clear. Let them cure for about five days and if there is some "orange peel" take some compound for removing fine scratches and buff lightly. color match is always tricky, but it's worth a shot.

you will have to get the paint either from a touch up place online(see above) or a local paint shop that can put the paint in an aerosol can, make sure the primer, paint and clearcoat are all of the same type from the same place.

As bladesmith stated. Go to an actual auto paint store and get some pw paint mixed.
