had to slam on the brakes on our new 2010 3 door thanks to a dumb

that didn't keep their large black lab in check . Fortunately we were only doing about 35 m.p.h. when the dog decided to dart out of nowhere to chase it . This happened just past the 1,000 mile break in period . So , hopefully there won't be any mechanical issues that could impact performance ( mileage , braking , etc. ) of the car due to the hard stop which is to be avoided in early stage of a break in (stated in owners manual ) . The studded snow tires are new as well . Checked those and seem to be o.k.. Thankfully didn't collide and do body damage .
