iPod Upgrade

I have the AUX port in my 3 Door '09 Liftback, which came with the stock CD Player, but I was thinking about taking it back to Toyota to get the iPod interface accessory. Does anyone know how much it costs and what it'll look like for installation?

I believe the dealer install option is $300, and if they following the service spec sheet for that part, you'll have an iPod/Phone dock cable in the driver side glovebox (over the wheel). I'd strongly recommend that you check out the USA SPEC adapter (581PA15TOY). Crutchfield has it for $149 and you can find online coupons to knock that down 20 bucks. I believe it offers the exact same functionality as the dealer option - you might want to check on that. The install is easy-breezy. You'll only need a phillips screwdriver, a drill to bore a .5" hole in either side top glovebox, and a couple cable ties to affix the converter box behind the dash. Youtube is your friend, search for "remove Yaris radio" videos and you'll see how easy it is. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to do the install yourself.
