tried something new

sorry for bad quality blackberry pics

hey all, so the other night i was kinda bored and wanted to try something new, i decided to paint my tires. i think it turned out really good and i was very happy with it. took me just under 2 hours to do it(never thought it would have taken me that long) and about 3 tire revolutions to mess it all up

the issue was i used Jeep Wrangler Touch up yellow, lol. it dried too hard for the flex of the tire and all flaked off.

does anyone recomend anything to use that will last and flex with the rubber?? i really liked the look.

Duplicolor makes a tire paint. Should be available at CTC.

LMFAO, are u kidding? they actually make tire paint? FML, i could have just done it right the first time. i got the yellow jeep paint from CTC (assuming CTC stands for Canadian Tire Corp?)

what would u reccommend for preping it? light sanding and some type of sealer after ontop?

Use a good tire cleaner, doubt there is a Griots up there...but they are online, great products.....

Anyway a good cleaner like simplegreen will also work, and make sure your tires are not brand new as they still are exuding oils....give em a couple 2000 miles.

then alcohol rub them to pull off any other crud.....blow then with like aircompresor to get any last bit....lol

the Duplicolor paint is good stuff....lasts for a while too and can be cleaned all the way off again once it fades.

It does look cool on your car....that is one of the newest things I am seeing cars do around here too
