Need help guys!!
I just installed my Tein basic coilovers and I followed the instructions. Yet i hear metal hitting metal in the rear part of the car when I go over bumps or a dip. I thought it was the bottles on top of the damper. I tighten those and yet the problem is still there. Is it possible that the RSB could be the reason? I didn't remove the RSB when I installed the Coilovers. Would that be a reason for the noise in the rear?
Thanks for the help!!! |

I'd verify the top mount/bushings are assembled correctly. How low is the car, are you running bumpstops, did you modify their length?

I will double check. But I followed the instrution manual. And im not that low. The car is dropped about 2in from stock. I have no bumpstops on there.

Did you orient the springs correctly, top is on top? and are the front springs on the front?
I know, silly question, but sometimes, customers do make that mistake.

I'd try to jack up the car a little and see if you can move anything around by hand. Don't go full wheels off the ground, just take some weight off. I agree with CY, double check your springs also just to be safe.
If everything looks ok. Try to take some pics of the shock/assembly, maybe something will pop out to someone. Also, check exhaust clearance. I've seen them hit arms and such from being lowered so much. Not sure how the Yaris exhaust is routed in connection to the arms, just thinking out loud.
