What do I need to make my navigation unit fit in my 2008 Yaris sedan?
I'm relatively new here and a complete noob when it comes to anything to do with cars. I purchased a KW-NT300 JVC navigation unit and I have installed it and its working completely fine.
Only thing is that it doesn't fit properly where the factory deck was. This part says that it should be compatible but I've already ordered a similar part off eBay and it didn't work. Height wise everything is fine, the unit is 4 inches and the hole is 4 inches but the width of the unit is about 6 3/4 inches whereas the width of the hole is about 8 inches. I've done a search on here but I've been unable to find this information I'm looking for. I just want to know what I need to make this thing fit. It's possible that I'm not using the right terminology when I'm searching but like I said, I'm a complete noob when it comes to this. I've attached a picture below: ![]() Thanks in advance for any help! |

you need what we call here as 'spacers' but what is called on the web a part of the 'trim dash kit'.
it looks like the one below and when installed should look like the ones on the side of the stereo on 2nd pic. ![]()

Thanks for the response! I actually purchased a set of these but they didn't fit properly. Is there any way I can be assured that I'm purchasing ones that will fit or is it just a hit or miss kind of thing?

The part you are looking for is the Metra 95-8202, which is the correct part from the crutchfield link you posted. I had the metra pieces installed on my old single din unit but, I sold them with the unit when I swapped out to the Kenwood DPX-500BT
This part works for yaris and many other toyota and scion models. Heres the link as well. http://www.metraonline.com/part/95-8202 This will make that unit look alot better. Cheers

I've got a pair of the metra trims gathering dust here if you want them.

The latter pictures look much better than the first.
Sure the OP's upgrade will look great soon. I was just taking about this with my Daughter. |
