More functional, than cosmetic...
The hard plastic tray on my '11 3Dr has a textured bottom, but according to the dealer, there is no rubberized insert to stop things from sliding around. I'm not certain if I was being BS'ed or not...there were no other Yarii on the lot to compare to, so I cut some ribbed rubber to fit, and my Maui Jim's, cell-phone etc. dont budge when I toss the car into the turns now.
 tray as delivered...just hard plastic  a simple piece of ribbed black rubber, cut to fit stops objects from sliding around. Not that it matters to me now, but DOES there exist a factory rubber insert thingy for that tray? Or did I have an actual moment of clever handiness?
