New door speakers

I want to replace both front and back door speakers but I'm not sure if my amp can handle it. It's a 1500w autotek mean machine and I have twin 12" kicker CVR's on it right now and a Pioneer AVH 1400dvd head unit.
The kicker's are 800 peak 400 rms. They are not bridged but I'm not sure how much I can still add on to them. Any one have an ideas on new door speakers I should get. I want to keep with the Kicker brand and I would like relatively easy installation if possible. I would like to increase my audio output of the entire car to be more loud and clear. Also I'm not really sure how to install door speakers with the head unit and with my surrent amp or a new one. Any help at all would be great.
Thanks,
Jordan

First, you need to sit in a vehicle like this and listen. I have a three way as well with different locations for the speakers.

There's the ability for control and clearer sound with a three way. The downside is that it takes a longer time to place and tune the speakers versus a two way. There is also the consideration of the crossover to control the speakers off the amplifier(s). In my situation, I've gone to the moon. A fully active setup with amps for every pair of speakers.

The cost (in my case) is more than the vehicle. I'm insane though. :)

Now, all you NEED is a deck and passive crossovers to the speakers. What you SHOULD have is a deck, amplification and the passive crossovers. That would get you up and running quickly. For a custom setup like Penny's, Derick's or mine...you're into it with a lot of time and some money.

Just consider all angles before you jump in.

More questions?

Then what would be a good set of door speakers to put in the front doors? A 3-way or 2-way? and would I need another amp or can i attach to the existing wires. and how would i go about getting an open panel view.

Would it be possiable to add this on to my amp with out any power issues. Or are the subs drawing to much power and it wouldn't be able to handle it.

or should i get a separate 4 channel amp for these to go on if so what one(s) would be perfect to supply these(front speakers & rear deck posted uptop) with power and not be to weak. brand doesn't really matter as long as it's not really cheap and untrustworthy.

get a decent 4ch amp , like the alpine pdx and use it together with the autotek amp you already had.... or sell your autotek and get the pdx-5 5ch amp in 1 chassis, save on the wiring and easily tuck under the seat.

I don't know how loud you listen your music, but for me 200-300W rms amplification is more than adequate.

check my domain page :

hope that helps

You guys have more balls than I do ... I got some of my stereo equipment stolen and now I just have a "not on your life" attitude. I WILL NOT put any aftermarket stereo equipment in my Yaris as it just isn't worth spending all that money only to get it stolen.

If the criminal targets your car .. you could come out one day to see all your stereo gear stripped out. Went through that twice .. and never going to do it again. And don't get me wrong ... I love good music, but I just am not willing to make that commitment again.

Fair enough...but a burglar could target your home as well. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop living there.

There are easy ways to discourage would be burglars as well. That in itself is a whole other post topic. First and foremost, don't advertise that you have a system.

I hear the concern with purchasing equipment for the vehicle. I know that I've done pretty much everything I can to protect my investment. You can get through the window easily. But those train horns that are hooked up to the car WILL wake up the entire neighborhood. Oh, and the triple sirens including one in the car...and the strobe light built into the headliner...and the battery backup...

If you have the balls to stick around any try to steal something, I've got an all American response for you. I sleep lightly and I'm armed to the teeth...and I have deployed with plenty of police officers in multiple precincts around me. It would be bad news bears to try breaking into my little Yaris.

^^^ I just hope that you never have someone violate your Yaris. I know the feeling all too well .. and it really is a violation of your property and the criminal deserves to be dealt with to the full extent of the law. The unfortunate part is that they seldom get caught. Back to regular programming ..
