5w30 vs. 5w40
Hi guys
Im having hard time choosing between those 2 grades .. I drive my car in extreme conditions (dust , short distances , lot of stop & go , highways more that 200 kms ) and the temperature here is hot in the summer (like 40 celcius) and winter never gets beyond 5 celcius .. I will use a full synthetic oil and change it once a year or 10,000 km is it true that 5w40 will give better protection that 5w30 ? or this is just a myth ? i want to use 5w-30 as it will give a better performance and economy .. but worried about protection ...
