Looking to buy a third-gen Yaris in the next few months, but I've noticed that the auxiliary port is tucked all the way in the glove box. My hope was that I could throw my first-gen Nexus 7 in the car as a music device (and maybe have it in a dash mount for navigation--it's a WiFi-only model, but I have local map data downloaded), but I'd rather not have to keep it in the glove compartment the whole time. So, a few questions:
- Has anyone found an easy way to maintain the aux audio connection with a closed glove box short of cutting a hole in the door?
- If not, how is the Bluetooth audio streaming? The ability to just use head unit controls to skip tracks would be great, but the audio quality is going to be pretty terrible if it's an older Bluetooth version used, and I can't seem to find detailed specs anywhere.
- Am I just going to have to buy a new head unit if I want to play music from my tablet and have decent audio quality?
