cop
nobody reads the racing thread, and I wanted to share this with as many as possible. I am sure this is breaking some rules, but im reposting it here sorry, it was too exciting not to share
Alright, so this is the set up. And just so you know, its a pretty slow race:) The speed limit is 35 mph--its night and there are no other cars on the road. Im sitting at a red light, and then a cop pulls up next to me and kinds of rolls ahead of me a little bit, you know, just crossing the white walk lines . I know what he is thinking. Its two lanes here, but just out of sight and around a corner the two lanes merge into one, and here this fucker is, and he thinks he is going to pass me and get in front. So i decide im not going to have any of it. I dont like to lose off the line anyway. My heart is pumping, I decide I dont want him to know im doing it intentionally, incase im wrong about his motives, so i pull out my cell phone and pretend to talk on it. The light changes and I start to accelerate, not slamming it, but taking a pretty good pace I hit 20mph. He starts to pull up along side of me. Just as he starts to take the lead I pick it up a little faster, we hit 35 and we're side by side again, when I start to pull ahead. He responds. Naturally I have to pick up even more speed, we hit 50mph. The lane merger is now in site and he starts to get a little more seroius. He starts to push ahead faster and I match him, we hit 70. It gets even more serious, Im still "chatting" on my phone, my heart racing and im thinking, "what the fuck are you doing brian". He takes the lead again and before I know it I'm flying by the merger at 85mph and he slides in behind me. Of course I quickly turned right at the next red light and he went straight, my body still shaking but I kicked his ass it was great Last edited by BMGYaris; 04-21-2007 at 02:22 AM. |

why? and no I am not. But I already knew the cops aroudn here are pretty loose...and I didnt actually expect him to push it so hard...or me for that matter, until it was happening. fucking awesome.
and to clarify there was no particular moment of INTENSE accelleration. It was all fairly gradual, no glancing at each other or suddenly pushing it all the way down or anything. just some soft challenges that escalated. |

but... the problem with racing a cop... he now knows your license plate... You might not have had a problem on the spot, but don't be surprised to get something in the mail

It couldnt have been a actual "win", no interceptor is as slow as a Yaris. I'm certain even a V6 Impala interceptor would be faster.

Yea of course, im not suggesting that he was giving it all he had. Like i said, we both just had some slow accelerations and neither of us was backing down. My theory is that everybody always lets the cop merge in front of them. And so he must have just been playing with me like I was with him. Anyway, im glad he didnt get mad:P
I really expected people to think it was a lot cooler though...im a bit dissapointed |

Actually,if true, its very cool to me,only because it would be such a weird moment, people love to let cops get in front,if they are in front of you,how can they pull you over.
So all in all, this was fun to read. |

oh geeez. I'd never be caught doing that in either story.
Take it to the track. It's more fun.

The sad thing is that often when speeders crash, they kill someone who was just out driving sensibly, probably making some 8 year old kid an orphan.
I agree, take it to the track - it's relatively safe, everyone is going the same direction and it's fun. |
