Did anyone else get an email with that title, and which looks like this?

Call me a suspicious bastard but I've had my Yaris since 2008 and this is the first time anyone has "officially" asked for my opinion of the car. I just don't see Toyota caring about a seven-year-old vehicle especially one they don't make anymore (the Gen II Yaris). It just seems odd for spam though, so if they are getting names/emails from this forum.

By the way, I don't remember ever signing up for Toyota surveys either...

Cheers! M2

And they actually addressed it to you as Mad Max?? If so, that's really creepy.

BTW do you have huge wheels and flame throwers on your Yaris?

It looks pretty suspicious that they ask about your car 7 years after, but the certificate issued and the Who Is data of the domain says it belong to Toyota, if is a forged site is a good one job (something not quite common of thieves).
I found something about in their FAQ: I received a survey via email from Toyota. How do I know if it is legitimate?

The survey looks legit to me. If it is fishy (which I doubt) it looks like somebody did a ton of work to gain a lot a not very useful information to a scammer. Toyota is known to be proud of the perceived long term durability of its products to it seems logical to check with some long term owners how that perception is holding up.

Gotcha.

Just so everyone knows, I ended up taking the survey and it was pretty much a waste of time. It didn't ask for any personal info other than my email address (which they already had) but they did ask a few questions concerning what kind of cell phone I have and which carrier I use. What that has to do with the car is beyond me...

I think that explains the point of the survey very well. The whole car connectivity debate is a big issue in the industry right now. It seems that many car makers are coming around to the thinking that rather than include a standalone infotainmet system with screen that will be obsolete in 5 years, they are now going to have more of a bare HMI that connects to your cellphone and lets it do all the navigating, playing music, texting, etc.

They care more about putting gadgets like infotaiment system and navigation with outdated maps than issues like paint, noises, rust, etc (maybe because they get this feedback from the service and dealers).
