New Rims/Tire Pressure?
I have toyota yaris 2016 base sedan with stock 175/65R14 82T with steel rims manufacturer design pressure at 33psi front and 30 psi rear.
I upgraded to bigger tires and rim. So bad there was no available 195/55R15 that time so instead I upgraded to 195/60R15 88H with alloy OEM. It increases diameter by 1.2inches from stock 23.0 to 24.2inch. Now my question is, what will be the new desired pressure (safety/reliability)? I tried same exact pressure 33psi front and 30psi rear but it is too bumpy. I read some article somewhere about load index with corresponding pressure for the new tires when upsizing and learned that for my yaris the front load is 970 and rear 901 (lbs or kg i dunno) see attached photo. If i use the attached table (photo) it will suggest me to use 27psi front and 25 psi rear since my new tires have higher load index 88H. I cannot trust this or should i? Currently i put my settings in the middle at 31PSI Front and 28PSI Rear and i think it gives comfy ride... I just want to be sure for the safety especially i will be travelling to Dubai next month (~980KM one way) Last edited by rayfloyd170; 02-19-2019 at 01:22 AM. |
