Hmmmm, that looks like a new design. Other TRD intakes for Yaris have an open cone type filter pictured.
I've never read a bad review of the TRD intake. Like the K&N offering, it's simply not as popular as the many other brands due to it's much higher price.

The intake in the pic is not the Yaris one. A lot of sites use it as a generic pic. It looks more like the one for a Tacoma or Tundra.

It is this one, the real TRD factory intake. The "open cone on a tube" models are another brand like AEM with a TRD sticker on it.

A true "cold air intake" needs to have a barrier between the filter and the warm air from the engine bay. A simple cone air filter on the end of a pipe does not achieve this nearly as well. AFE has a real nice product http://shop.microimageonline.com/aFe...L-51-11302.htm

Note: For off highway use only. This part is sold with no warranty and installation of this part may adversely affect the warrany coverage on the vehicle.

love it.

The warranty part sucks. The bypass filter cracked on mine after about a year. Luckily I was able to get one from another member that removed theirs.

Again, that is not the Yaris one in the pic. Look at the bends on it plus that box wont fit under the headlight. I think the TRD CAI with the box on the end, like the one in the pic, have the carbon filter in them so they are C.A.R.B. legal and there are no C.A.R.B legal parts for the Yaris.

That ATE looks like a knock-off of the K&N system, but at 1/2 the price.
