225.. what rims though?

ok, i have sold my crx shell and now new autocross season starts in a couple weeks.. i wanna go with the new azenis 615K and try them out this year so i can stay in ST class. my plan is to get new rims, but i am still unsure on which size i want.. i was going to go with my red rota gt3 with 225/50/15.. or buy some 16", 215/45/16... OR get some 17" and use the extra height to help with speed bumps with 225/40/17

now, i cant get the azenis in 225 on 15" wheels unfortunatly.. i will probably go with the Ventus R-S3.... but if i really wanted to stick with azenis, they only come 205/50/15s. and thats what is on my yaris now.. they are just the originals and are about 4-5 years old and hard as rocks now..

so.. im gonna make my decision monday. opinions more then welcome.. thanks guys..

Get something light weight in a 15x7 and get the 205/50R15's. If your auto-xing your car you should know that the bigger the rim the slower your acceleration. If you really want to get serious about it get some 14x6.5/7's and get the 195/60R14's.

Either way, if you go bigger then the 15's then your acceleration is gonna suffer.

yea.. good point. i think i may do the 14" and put some comp R's on those when i move up to the SM class when i end up boosting it. as far as til then, im looking for a good daily driver look also... i feel that 15" "LOOKS" a bit small on such a big body.. whats ur opinion on looks, racing aside?

On mine, which I use as my daily driver I would never go over 16's. Personally I think 17's and bigger look goofy on our cars. But there again I think 14's look great on a Yaris.

the RS3 was rated as a better tire than the 615K right?

Your right Tamago. The RS3 is a 140 wear rating, the 615 is a 200.

yea.. im really thinking about going with the rs3.. cheaper and i would stick with my 15" so i dont have to buy new rims.. then i could use that extra money and get an LSD/flywheel/clutch setup... thats what my g/f is argueing with me about..

she says, "you already got rims, just use those.. gez" hahaha

cant argue with that

Get the 15" RS3... The 615k is not as fast.
