you mean the gear indicator on the gauge cluster? or the lettering next to the actual lever?

he means on the cluster....

When I tore mine apart, there where LED solder points that where not in "use"...
I'm not sure what the case is with LB's or if it was a "package" option that I got... but the easiest way to find out and see if you have the "solder points" for the gear indicator lights on the left hand side of the cluster.... one sec and I'll post a pic as to what they should look like.

or you could always call your dealer and say wtf mate!

yea, i mean on the gauge cluster. If its dark i still find myself making mistakes, and its really terrible if i let somebody else drive for whatever reasons and i have to say, whoa, hold on a second. pop on the light and show them that its in neautral. Then they say....where is the thing? Its really embaressing.

If you want to confirm that you are in drive, just shift over to third and back - it's the only position on the shifter where you can do that.

Actually the real problem is reverse and neutral, sometimes it slips ever so slightly down and its hard to tell and i end up reving the engine. Also, i am really careless sometimes and i pop it in drive instead of reverse :) all most had a few accidents that way. I would like to see D and think...whoops! better switch!

but Mostly it is just embarressment, when other people get in the car and get confused. Then i have to turn on the lights and help them figure out what gear they are in--makes me feel like my brand new car is a real el cheepo:) might be the base model, but i sure dont need anyone else feeling that before they even back up, after all, if the person is driving my car i care about him/her...so...i also care if they think my car is ultra cheap.

I don't know if anyone saw this over at autoblog, but there's a shift knob I thought would work really well for this: the indy-cator. My problem is, I have no idea whatsoever what would be required to install something like this. Anybody have any ideas on that?
