May get another Toyota . It's a '14 Corolla

LE w/ the C.V.T. and has less than 2,400 miles . The Color is Brown Sugar . The cost will be $16,400 with trade ( M.S.R.P. new $19,000+ ) . It's Certified and get the 2 year free maintenance . Close to mint condition . Not a Yaris sedan , but it'll make due . Managed to get it up to 43 ( reset the avg. m.p.g. ) . Here are some pics .

Thanks , we've decided to wait since it's the 1st year of the new model with a C.V.T. . Will pause and see how dependable it is . The Corolla is the nicest looking of all past models .

Good that you've decide to wait, not just because of the CVT (which more than one auto magazine has managed to overheat), but simply because it's a Corolla. There are better choices out there, unless you just want it simply because it's a Corolla.

Pretty impressive that you squeezed 43 MPG out of a non hybrid car that size..... even given the CVT .

I got 40.xx mpg out of the S Plus 6MT on an 8 or so mile trip.

Good thing you waited since you can snag an LE Plus (so add alloy wheels and fog lights) new for about 18k before trade.

Like right now, my dealership is selling the Corolla LE Plus for $17,219 if you pay cash (rebate), or $17,719 if you finance.

Do remember the MPG in the MID is not accurate since it includes a 99.9 mpg everytime you let go of the gas, so it kinda skews the numbers by bringing the instant mpg to a high value and deviating the average by a bit.

Jcboy , aware the display is not accurate . Could actually be 39 > 41 . Still impressive for 2,900 lb. car with 2 people and about 30% city driving . Temperature was in low 30's and wind of 15+ .

I don't know about others, but I use the average MPG display as a guide re adjusting my habits. I still figure each tank, both in my 2007 and my 2014 in an old school manner...fill until I can barely see gas in the neck each time, and then take the miles on the tank divided by the number of gallons it takes to reach that (same) level each time.

doing the math is better than relying on the displays. Displays are always inaccurate for some reason.

Would be nice if you could adjust it like that of a Scanguage or Eco-Meter .

Another reason we passed is the interior is a bit cheesy . There's a silver / chrome plastic strip the width of the dash . Then the front doors have the same silver/ chrome strip with a fake wood grain strip . A bit funky . Should of left it all black or with some cloth the same color of seats , etc.. Did hear some rattles from the dash as well , especially when slightly pressed on ( creaks ) . It's pieced together ( bottom / top ) . Imagine that could get worse over the years and when it's hot making for expansion .

Definitely! I'm just saying, as i normally get 15-16 km/L on the display on my yaris sedan but when doing the old school method it is just around 13.6-13.9. (100% city driving, medium/heavy traffic combination)

But yeah, it is a great car! and the interior space is incredible.
