6 figures

Psychological old age milestone. Still looks and drives like 20,000

BTW, what you see there on the cluster is a prime example of what happens when dash cleaner hits the cluster cover.

ha, nice catch! I always miss, usually noticing a couple of miles after the fact - doh!

Had the same problem WeeYari, ended up just taking the plastic cover off completely. Couldn't stand seeing that crap.

Congrats on the milestone!

That would drive me crazy too! What product was it that made those spots so I can avoid it?

Don't know. I got the car when it was a year old. On there when I got it. The spots really only show up under very direct sunlight, or in this case, camera flash.

I've watched 100K roll over on a bunch of cars. That's a great idea to get a picture of it.

Nice.

But isn't it kilometers in Canada? If so, it's only 62,137 miles.

^ Yep, but like I said, it's phsycological. 6 figures is still 6 figures, and the only place anyone really wants to see that many digits is on their income ;)

I'm just up to over 50k km on mine, so I'll have to wait at least another 3 yrs for that 6-figure number. But it's weird how it catches your eye- I've noticed myself looking at the odometer just as some round number shows up.

My 2001 BMW F650 (a motorcycle known for serious qc problems) would hit 5000 miles on the ODO. The next time you started the bike up the ODO would read 4990 (or something). So you could hit those round figures twice! German technology is GREAT!

Not quite so psychological any more.

Now at the point where mileage has a huge impact on resale. Fortunately I've no plans on getting rid of her any time soon.
