Need to replace rear lower shock bolt
Does anyone know the correct size bolt I need? The right rear suspension makes a clunking sound, I've diagnosed the issue and there's a small space between the shock mount. I need to remove the bolt but I feel like I'm going to break it so I want to have a replacement ready to go. I have a rear sway bar so the bolt is longer then the factory bolt. I
Once I get it all apart I'm going to try and squeeze the metal together with a large clamp to close up the gap or stick a washer in one side.

So you've jacked the car up and confirmed there's play in that bushing using a pry bar or similar?
Bolt part number is 91673-G1065 However, if that bushing is flogged out, then likely your shocks are as well. Instead of doing a dodgy repair, replace the part. Doing dodgy things just leads to further failure points. |

That's the same OEM bolt they told me to order, it's not long enough to bolt on the sway bar, does Toyota not sell a longer bolt?

I just ordered up the TRD rear sway bar. Does it come with the longer bolt for installation? If not, is the part number known for a longer bolt to facilitate installing the bar?

I didn't need a longer bolt when I installed the sway bar on my 2014. Bolted straight up.

I actually found the install instructions online. They only supply hardware for the second forward hole. So yes, you are correct. One reuses the lower shock bolt. 'Preciate the feedback.

What's up fellas, idk about other years of our cars but on my 2010 the sway bar bolts up on the inner sides of the rear beam. The sway bay came with longer hex key head bolts(don't like those).
I was able to correct my issue. Gave up on trying to unbolt and just cut of the nut and bolt. Once I had the old bolt out I slid the shock out and crank down on the beam with a clamp to close up the gap, test fit a couple times and made sure there was no more play in the shock mount. I was able to keep the clamp on while I tightened new nut and bolt. Took it for a test drive and it sounds like a brand new 2010 Yaris again but with a rear sway bar.

Update - I scheduled another appointment for the safety inspection on my Yaris and it passed with no issues again. Not driving as much these days but my Yaris has almost 250k. Original clutch disc, 1 full set of brakes, 1 battery, 2nd set of tires I purchased. Rock solid car that I have fallen in love with again now that the noise is gone in the back end.
