oem mufdlaps

i got the oem mudflaps today and i got the fronts installed but the rears will not light up correctly. they attach by the plastic pin on the bottom side and 2 screws and spring nuts the top. when i put the plastic pin in the mudflap then attach it to the bottom of the bumper it wont line up right along the top 2 holes. any suggestions?

i didnt drill the rear holes yet, it has notches where the spring nuts are supposed to go and they dont light up at all, the holes in the flaps sit too high. i guess i could redrill the mudflap holes but if i leave the bottom pin in place theres a gap between the flap and bumper

I put my own flaps on on a LB, so I can say for a fact all the holes should line up perfectly, and no gaps anywhere when you install them, front and back.

I was pedantic though and also added a thin layer of silicone caulk on the inside edge of the mud flaps when I installed them to keep them extra-sealed. Basically ran a bead on the outer edge, screwed them down, wiped up the mess very throughly.

And don't forget to spray and clean the hell out of the area with rubbing alchohol before you install them, seriously, you should be able to wipe a paper towel in the area and get nothing off before you consider the spot 'clean enough' to install something like mud flaps. I went through most of a bottle of the stuff and almost a whole roll of paper towels, just swapped the spray-nozzle from some windex over and went to town.

Thinking 99 , i do not know if anyone in the US has seen Toyotas latest,
cost saving ideas.
They realeased a report over here stating as of late 08 early 09 all toyota models where possable will share parts .
ie 09 Yaris sedan and Hatch backs will have the same bumpers ,fog lights and a heap
of other parts, they called it lean manufacturing , saveing cost on parts and assembly jigs.
double check your recepit see if it says 08, or 09 mud flaps.

Put these mudguards on my 5-door '09 LB and they fit perfectly:
PT769-52060

My dealer's parts department got them for me though.

There's also these:
00016-52707
http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...&parts_id=1130

Not sure what the differences are though.

I put them on yesterday along with my spoiler and I can tell you that the bottom hole in the rear does NOT line-up as you mention. Simple fix....mark and drill the holes holding the mud guard on, then affix the bottom with 3m light body trim tape. Worked perfectly. The fronts were super quick and easy.

Interesting. My flaps look great but I would be very interested to see if the flaps are actually different. They can't be for the front because....those went on like butter.

I think a few people have installed the 08 flaps and confirmed that the dealer stated they were the same. Considering how the front fit, it doesn't seem that way but who knows. Please keep us posted.
